101 Collins Street — Electrifying an Icon
101 Collins Street is a Melbourne landmark attracting some of Australia’s blue-chip corporations to occupy its prestigious location. In an age of gr...
The facility features an 80-seat auditorium, community programming spaces, services and facilities, workshop spaces, ICT classrooms, 11 meeting spaces, and a cafe.
Involved from the initial design stage, A.G. Coombs Advisory led the commissioning planning phase and undertook design-for-commissionability reviews. A key commissioning activity for this project included pressure testing of the Library’s sub-floor air displacement system. Pressure testing is required to confirm that all sub-floor plenums are sufficiently sealed. A successful outcome from the testing was achieved with the Library now functioning with reduced air leakage, which will lead to increased energy efficiency and operational savings.
Another key commissioning activity involved detailed testing of the Building Management & Controls System including meter calibration to ensure accurate readings. This has led to system improvements and optimal operational efficiency.
