Supporting Indigenous Business Through Purposeful Procurement – Local & Connected

October 5, 2026

Throughout October, A.G. Coombs is recognising Indigenous Business Month and the important contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses make to communities and the Australian economy.

Held annually from 1 to 31 October, Indigenous Business Month is a national celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business excellence, innovation and entrepreneurship. The initiative showcases the role Indigenous businesses play in creating employment, strengthening local economies, supporting self-determination and preserving cultural knowledge for future generations.

This year’s theme, Local & Connected, highlights the importance of businesses that are grounded in community, built on meaningful relationships and committed to creating opportunities and positive outcomes for others.

Supporting Indigenous business through procurement

As part of our recognition of Indigenous Business Month and in support of the A.G. Coombs Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, we are partnering with Game Time Coffee to provide coffee cart services across our offices throughout October.

A 100% Indigenous-owned business, Game Time Coffee was founded by Jason Williams and Jake Long to use good coffee as a connector, and to create opportunities for the next generation of Indigenous youth in sport.Through the Game Time Coffee Sports Fund, enterprise helps remove financial barriers to sport participation for young Indigenous athletes by supporting costs such as registration fees, uniforms and travel.

Local action with a broader impact

This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting Indigenous participation through practical action and considered procurement.

By continuing to engage Indigenous-owned businesses such as Game Time Coffee, A.G. Coombs seeks to contribute to stronger economic participation and positive community outcomes. We look forward to building on our partnership with Game Time Coffee and supporting an organisation that is helping create pathways for young Indigenous athletes through sport.
