International Women in Engineering Day 2026

June 23, 2026

International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), celebrated globally on 23 June, recognises the achievements and contributions of women engineers while encouraging greater participation across the profession.

This year’s theme, Engineering Intelligence, highlights the expertise, creativity and leadership women bring to solving complex challenges across the built environment and beyond.

At A.G. Coombs, supporting greater representation in engineering is an ongoing commitment, reflected through initiatives that help attract, develop and advance women across our industry.

Recently, A.G. Coombs concluded its national series of Advancement of Women Leadership Academy events with a final gathering in Canberra. Bringing together clients, industry partners and emerging leaders, the series explored leadership, representation and the collective responsibility required to build inclusive, high-performing organisations.

A.G. Coombs is also helping inspire future engineers through its Build Your Future STEM program, which encourages Year 9 and 10 female and non-binary students to explore pathways in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Delivered by A.G. Coombs engineers and designers, the program combines hands-on activities with real career insights to showcase opportunities within the building services industry.

On International Women in Engineering Day, we recognise the women shaping our industry today and inspiring the next generation of engineering leaders.
