National Reconciliation Week 2026 – All In for Reconciliation

May 27, 2026

Wednesday 27 May marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2026,
a significant time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in meaningful and lasting ways.

Held annually from 27 May to 3 June, NRW commemorates two defining milestones in Australia’s reconciliation journey, the 1967 Referendum and the High Court Mabo decision, both of which represent important steps toward recognising the rights and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A National Call to Action: “All In”

The 2026 theme, “All In” is a powerful call for individuals, organisations and communities to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day. It reminds us that reconciliation is not a passive or symbolic exercise, but one that requires sustained action, shared responsibility, and a genuine willingness to listen, learn and lead change. Importantly, it reinforces that reconciliation is a responsibility shared by all Australians.

Turning Commitment into Action

At A.G. Coombs, National Reconciliation Week is both a moment of reflection and a reaffirmation of our ongoing commitment through our ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan. Our approach focuses on building meaningful relationships, promoting cultural understanding, creating opportunities and embedding accountability across everything we do.

Through this work, we strive to ensure reconciliation is not a once-a-year focus, but an integral part of how we operate, across projects, partnerships and workplace interactions.

Strengthening Partnerships and Understanding

We recognise that meaningful progress is built through respectful relationships and shared understanding. By working collaboratively with clients, communities and industry partners, we aim to foster inclusive environments and strengthen connections between people, projects and in every partnership.

National Reconciliation Week provides an important opportunity to encourage dialogue, elevate First Nations voices, and build cultural capability across our workforce and the broader built environment sector.

Excellence Through People

This year’s theme strongly resonates across our organisation. Being “All In” means empowering our people to engage in reconciliation through everyday actions, whether that’s participating in cultural learning, supporting First Nations businesses, or taking the time to listen, reflect and grow.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, one that requires commitment, courage and collaboration. As we mark National Reconciliation Week 2026, we are reminded that meaningful progress happens when we move forward together.

We remain committed to strengthening our impact and working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to help build a more inclusive, respectful and equitable future.

Because reconciliation works best when we are all in.
