On 11 February each year A.G. Coombs joins organisations and institutions worldwide in celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS).

The day, designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, acknowledges the crucial contributions that women have made in scientific fields and raises awareness of the importance of science and gender equality in addressing the global challenges.

In 2026, IDWGS’s theme is ‘Synergizing AI, Social Science, STEM and Finance: Building Inclusive Futures for Women and Girls’.

• Build Your Future STEM workshops inspiriting Year 9 and 10 students to explore career opportunities in engineering and the building services industry.
• ‘Advancement of Women’ A.G. Coombs Leadership Academy events in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. Female industry leaders and A.G. Coombs team members in a collaborative forum share insights and reflect on the progress and opportunities to advance women in the building services industry.
• Sponsorship and engagement with women’s sport including Richmond AFLW, Northeast Blaze Netball Club and Softball Australia.
