Supporting educational opportunities through the MITS Gala Dinner

October 29, 2026

The 2026 Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) Gala Dinner, Woven Strong, brought together the MITS community and supporters to celebrate students and help create educational opportunities for young Indigenous people from remote and regional communities. The evening raised $338,000 to support this important work.

The annual Gala recognises the students, families and wider community at the heart of MITS, while supporting the school’s work to create pathways for students to pursue their education and aspirations.

Supporting education and opportunity

A.G. Coombs’ involvement with MITS reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to education, inclusion, reconciliation and aligning with our Reconciliation Action Plan – Innovate.

Through our technical facilities management business, Integrated Technical Management (ITM), A.G. Coombs provides building services maintenance across several MITS properties.

Our involvement also extends to the Richmond Football Club’s Korin Gamadji Institute, where ITM provides building services support.

These connections provide practical ways for our organisation to apply our capabilities while supporting organisations focused on opportunities for Indigenous young people.

An evening centred on students and community

The Gala brought supporters together around the experiences, achievements and aspirations of MITS students.

Student stories and cultural elements throughout the evening highlighted the role education can play in creating opportunities while enabling young people to remain connected to family, community and culture.

Members of the A.G. Coombs team joined the broader MITS community in supporting the event.

 Building pathways to opportunity

A.G. Coombs continues to support MITS and its work with young Indigenous students, including through our Pathways Program and broader social initiatives.

We congratulate MITS on the 2026 Gala Dinner and look forward to seeing the opportunities created for current and future students.
