As part of the launch of the forthcoming Victorian Government Jobs and Employment Summit Minister for Industry and Employment and Minister for Resources Hon. Wade Noonan visited the Rod Laver Arena redevelopment project and caught up with A.G. Coombs Managing Director Russell Telford and some of our site team. The visit featured a ‘meet and greet’ with our apprentices on site.
For the refurbishment of the Rod Laver Arena, which is part of the larger Melbourne Park Redevelopment Stage 2 project, A.G. Coombs is providing Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning and mechanical services to 2 of the 4 Work Management Packages on the Project. Our works include the detailed design, coordination, installation, commissioning, and service and maintenance for new chiller and air handling plant, ducted air distribution system, multiple services to retail food and beverage outlets, an associated electrical upgrade and upgrade to the Building Management and Control System. These new and enhanced systems will ensure that the refurbished venue is properly air conditioned and ventilated to modern standards of comfort, safety and energy efficiency.
This work follows on from previous contracts for similar works at Melbourne Park in the development of Margaret Court Arena and the National Tennis Centre.
