A.G. Coombs Canberra and Townsville March On to Support Veterans and Their Families This March

March 2, 2026

As part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, A.G. Coombs is proud to once again participate in activities that support and bring greater awareness to military veterans and their families through Soldier On

Founded in 2012, Soldier On is a not-for-profit organisation supporting Australian veterans and their families. Its work focuses on health and wellbeing, employment support, learning and education, and social participation, helping veterans succeed in every aspect of civilian life.

Providing veterans with greater hope and real opportunities

A.G. Coombs has been a sponsor of Soldier On for several years and signed on as a Corporate Supporter in 2025, extending its role in enabling veterans and their families to succeed.

Through this partnership, A.G. Coombs provides meaningful support and employment opportunities in collaboration with the Soldier On Pathways Program, which assists veterans in securing long-term, fulfilling careers.

This year, five A.G. Coombs staff members are personally getting behind the Soldiers On mission by participating in the March On Challenge.

Following in the footsteps of the Kokoda heroes

Throughout March, Casey Foreman, Administration Team Leader at A.G. Coombs (NSW), and the “Yompa Stompas” team from A.G. Coombs Townsville will each walk or run 96 kilometres — the length of the Kokoda Track.

Led by Paul Jones, Estimator, Special Contracts Division (SCD) Projects, the Townsville team includes Michael Pell, HVAC Technician, Service; and Rob Shepherd, Project Manager, SCD. Together, they are honouring the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and their families.

“Our 96 km will be achieved with multiple climbs of Townsville’s iconic Castle Hill wearing 14 kg weight vests,” said Paul.

“Being ex-military (RAF, UK), I know how important this cause is. It takes on special significance here in Townsville because this is such a large garrison city and we want to give back to our community,” he added.

On Casey’s March On tribute post, she wrote the following:

“For my grandfather, a Changi POW during WWII. For my brothers-in-law ex-serving, for my husband currently serving and for those beautiful brave men and women, both current and ex-serving. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice. You are truly incredibly special people.”

Together with more than 9000 others across Australia, Casey, Paul, Michael, Rob and Dan will be raising funds towards Soldier On’s mental health services to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

Your opportunity to join A.G. Coombs and make a difference

So far, March On 2026 has raised over $1 million dollars, but there is still plenty of time to get behind this important initiative and sponsor Casey and Paul’s Yompa Stompas by visiting their individual sponsorship pages and making a donation – Casey Foreman and Paul Jones.
