Hosted by Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air conditioning and Heating the annual 2 day Future of HVAC conference looks at the industry’s future, the challenges, and the new technology and bright ideas that are driving change, and how this will affect the built environment.
In Brisbane this year The Future of HVAC 2016 Conference will be held at Room Three Sixty, QUT Gardens Point Campus, from September 7–8.
Two A.G. Coombs experts are presenting at conference:
Utilisation of cloud technologies to augment facilities and asset management
Day 1, Wednesday September 7
Carl Agar, Senior Consultant – Assets & Facilities, A.G. Coombs Advisory
New capabilities in asset and facility related data acquisition and analysis, and field mobility technology will not only revolutionise how we manage buildings and their technical assets, including HVAC, for improved performance, but also provide innovative ways to analyse and project life cycle and cost. This presentation will set out the opportunities, show how new technology is enabling this change together with highlighting the importance of a good asset information strategy in order to reap the benefits.
Lean design and construction – design practices that support the benefits of lean construction
Day 1, Wednesday September 7
Warwick Stannus, Group Engineering Manager, A.G. Coombs
The application of lean design and construction methodologies to HVAC and mechanical services design and installation, combined with offsite manufacture techniques, are beginning to demonstrate substantial quality, system performance, safety and construction program benefits in Australian building construction projects. This new approach is set to transform the future of project delivery in this country over the next decade. However, the realization of these benefits is constrained by current project procurement strategies and industry practices. Focusing on the HVAC industry this presentation will explore the links between BIM, lean design/construction and collaborative project delivery drawing on lessons learnt from a number of recent Australian projects and initiatives related to lean supply chains.
