Traditional hard services maintenance paradigms are changing. Digitisation of asset management and maintenance is seeing old style frameworks replaced by new forms of service agreements that are delivering better asset life cycle outcomes, whilst also lowering environmental impacts and the total cost of ownership
This presentation details new approaches to hard services maintenance that are being applied in a digital asset management environment, setting out methodologies to assure regulatory compliance and optimal maintenance strategies to maintain system availability and reliability, prolong asset life, reduce environmental impact, and thereby reduce total costs of ownership.

Con Bafitis, IoT Information Leader, A.G. Coombs Group
Andrew Smith, Leader – Building Technologies, A.G. Coombs Advisory
The future is here. Data, its ownership and application is significantly changing the landscape of the facility management industry. Facility management service providers are working out how to add value in this brave new world, developing systems to integrate and feed the growing data lakes. Things are changing rapidly – how to make sense of the evolving technology, what structures and systems to apply, where to invest, what is the ROI?
This presentation provides a valuable framework for thinking about this new environment and making the best decisions in a fast-changing world – Big data, in byte size pieces.
Carl Agar, Senior Consultant – Assets & Facilities, A.G Coombs Advisory
Building Information Modelling has been adopted to a high degree within the Australian building construction industry. Sophisticated digital models and associated data sets are created with a primary focus on productivity improvements in the design and construction phase of buildings.
There remains a significant gap between the models and data sets being used for construction, and the hand-over of useful information to facility managers. In this there is also a functional disconnect between the modelling and the data set content that is useful to facility managers such as operating and maintenance procedures, technical data sheets, schedules of equipment, commissioning and warranty information.
The Virtual Building Quality System facilitates transfer of valuable information from digital construction processes to building owners and facility managers. Developed with significant assistance from the Victorian Government’s Future Industries Sector Growth Program the system is based on an open syntax standard that will be freely available to the market
This presentation will describe and explain the Virtual Business Quality System, how it can be applied to both green and brown field projects for the effective transfer of high value data to building owners and facility managers, and how it will made available to industry.
As a long-time Facility Management Association supporter A.G Coombs has sponsored key note speakers at each Ideaction event since 2002.
