First year plumbing apprentice, Jessica Malouf (A.G. Coombs Projects), was presented with the “Vocational Student of the Year Award”, for her pre-apprenticeship studies.
Third year refrigeration apprentice, Ryan O’Connor (A.G. Coombs Service), was a finalist in the “Third Year Apprentice of the Year Award”. In previous years at this event, Ryan has received the “2014 First Year Apprentice of the Year – Alan Broadhead Award” and the “2013 First Year Outstanding Student of the Year Award” for Refrigeration / Air Conditioning.
Successful nominees were chosen from over 35,000 enrolments, with award winners and finalists recognised for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership qualities, industry service and commitment to learning.
Jessica said of her win “I’ve always had an interest in plumbing – I was intrigued by gas fitting setups! I am very proud to have won this award, and would like to thank both the Box Hill Institute and A.G. Coombs for their continuous support”.
