AIRAH and the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works have released the Management guideline for the phase-out of refrigerant R22, a free online guide prepared with industry input that offers advice on audit and asset management, as well as on technical options.
R22 is being phased out in accordance with Australia’s obligation to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. As of next year, import quotas will be kept at a stable minimum level until 2030, when the phase-out will be complete.
Managing the phase-out of R22 can be problematic for owners and operators of equipment running on this popular refrigerant. It is crucial that building owners, facilities managers, system operators, and technical service providers are all on the same page when it comes to the phase-out.
Visit the AIRAH website to view the free R22 phase-out guide.
A.G. Coombs has provided advice and planning ranging from single critical units through to portfolios of thousands of units and can assist with your preparation for the R22 phase-out. View the A.G. Coombs R22 Refrigerant Phase-out Options Advisory Note, or contact us.
