How did you become an Engineer?
I started studying Electrical Engineering at university in 2009 and worked for a construction company at the same time. After I finished studying, I spent a year and a half working as a Graduate Engineer, then I worked in various Engineering roles in London for 4 and a half years.
How long have you been an Engineer?
All up I’ve been working as an Engineer for just over 6 years.
When did you start working for A.G. Coombs?
I started in February this year.
What were you doing before you started working at A.G. Coombs?
I worked in London on the Crossrail project.
What’s the most rewarding part of your role?
No day is ever the same! The Advisory business is working on so many different projects across so many different sectors, I love the new challenges each of them bring.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
I started working at A.G. Coombs about 4 weeks before the effects of COVID-19 hit. Adapting to the new way of working with social distancing and trying to settle into a new job has been tough, but everyone has made such an effort to keep communication to ‘normal’ that it’s worked out pretty well.
If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?
To fly. Just because it looks fun in the movies.
If you could go back and give advice to yourself at 18-years-old, what would that be?
Worry less! And to trust my judgement a bit more.
