A.G. Coombs is celebrating multiple wins from this year’s Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) Victorian Training Achievement Awards, taking out the overall Training Achievement Award, the Category Award for Drafting and the Category Award for Refrigeration & Air Conditioning along with a Presidents Encouragement Award in the Category for Mechanical Plumbing.
Jackson Taylor, A.G. Coombs (Projects) Drafting Trainee has been recognised by the AMCA with the AMCA Victorian Training Achievement Award together with the Category Award for Drafting.
Michael Lithotomos, A.G. Coombs Service Refrigeration Apprentice received the Category Award for Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, and,
Aimee Stanton, A.G. Coombs (Projects) Mechanical Plumbing Apprentice was presented with a Presidents Encouragement Award in the Category for Mechanical Plumbing.
The awards were bestowed at this year’s AMCA Industry Dinner, held on 13 August at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne where members of the industry gathered to honour its young trainees and apprentices. AMCA Victoria President Peter Keating said the winners had been selected from particularly strong fields.
The A.G. Coombs Group strongly supports Australian apprenticeships, recognising that they are the best way to combine training and entry point employment, often leading to a nationally recognised qualification and career path. A.G. Coombs’ Managing Director, Mr Russell Telford, said, “Our long history in apprenticeship training and development continues to be further strengthened with our Apprenticeship Program, helping to ensure that apprentices make the most of their training opportunities and become effective and capable tradespeople with a great future in the industry”, he added. “We combine professional mentoring and active engagement with partner educational facilities to continually track training progress and to help ensure the educational curriculum is appropriate to the workplace and apprentice needs”.
