MITS is a Year 7 transition school on Wurundjeri Country for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities in the NT and Victoria. Through MITS, the students go on to lead empowered lives full of choice and opportunity.
Located inside the Richmond Football Club, the school provides a highly differentiated Year 7 learning program which celebrates Indigenous cultures and enables each student to grow academically, socially and emotionally.
“A.G. Coombs are very proud of our relationship and ongoing support to MITS”, Russell Telford, Managing Director, A.G. Coombs Group.
As proud supporters of MITS, A.G. Coombs recently had the opportunity to visit the Indigenous School to spend some time with the students and showcase the A.G. Coombs Service Vehicles, which were recently wrapped in Indigenous Artwork as part of National Reconciliation Week.
In collaboration with Indigenous artist Michelle Kerrin, A.G. Coombs recently captured Michelle’s artwork in our vehicle livery as a visual acknowledgment and connection to Australia’s indigenous culture and their community.
Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, which is embedded across our organisation, we continue to embrace our Indigenous community and their cultures through our actions and community engagement.
Running from the 3rd to the 10th July, NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Join with A.G. Coombs Group to celebrate and learn more about NAIDOC Week 2022, working together for a reconciled, just and equitable Australia.
