NFIA is a peak fire protection industry association and their Champion in Diversity Award recognises a fire protection company that has implemented an initiative or practice that promotes diversity and inclusion within the workplace and has positively impacted the business and employees.
“Thank you NFIA. We are passionate about embracing diversity and inclusion across all aspects of our business,” said Andrew McGregor, General Manager, Walker Fire Protection.
“Winning the NFIA National Champion in Diversity Award helps elevate many of the wonderful diversity and inclusion initiatives that are already embedded in our company while advancing our strong commitment to industry leadership in all aspects of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) activities.”
The inaugural NFIA Women in Fire Protection national award recognises a female individual who has demonstrated leadership, initiative and/or achievement whilst making a positive impact within the Fire Protection Industry.
This year the award recognised Lisa Dalgleish, Walker Fire Protection Operations Manager – Service.
Lisa commenced as Operations Manager – Service in 2022 and a typical day will consist of meeting with Contract Managers, speaking with many technicians, assisting with job information, site and compliance issues, service delivery efficiencies and client related matters, along with conversations with the National Customer Service team to ensure all maintenance is compliant, any reported defects are rectified in a
timely manner.
Lisa reflected, “Thank you NFIA for this recognition. The most rewarding part of my role is seeing the improvements we have made to the business come to fruition. We have created an exceptional team and have a positive can-do culture at Walker Fire Protection. This has made us an employer of choice in the Fire Industry from Sprinkler Fitters through to Contract Managers wanting to come on board.”
