Breath of fresh air

This month’s AIRAH (Ecolibrium) magazine explores the role of HVAC in Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ). In a roundtable with industry experts including A.G. Coombs Advisory Manager in NSW and the ACT, Gary Whatling, IAQ and IEQ is identified as a significant issue for property owners in retaining and attracting tenants and more generally for tenants in retaining staff. The quality of the design, installation, and operation and maintenance of HVAC systems clearly has a key role to play in creating healthy, comfortable and productive internal environments.

The article explores the current state of play with IEQ/IAQ, where HVAC designers are focusing, the role and impact of building rating schemes, how IEQ and IAQ is being measured and reported and technologies role in this, together with the effect that new flexible workplaces are having.
