At the conclusion of the A.G. Coombs’ Annual General Meeting on 29 November 2023, outgoing Chairperson, Clive Weeks AO formally handed the position of Non-Executive Chairperson to current Board Member Murray Coleman OAM.
In announcing his retirement from the Chairperson role and membership of the A.G. Coombs Group Board, Mr Weeks remarked, “It has been a privilege to have served as Chairperson of the Board of the A.G. Coombs Group for the past decade. During that time, I have been very proud to see the company go from strength to strength – bringing buildings to life and embracing new technologies while always being values-driven and promoting diversity, inclusion and reconciliation.”
“I know that I am leaving the Board in the very capable hands of my colleague Murray Coleman OAM and I look forward to keeping abreast of the company’s continued success,” he added.
“Under Clive’s 10-year stewardship, the A.G. Coombs Group Board has maintained a firm focus on sound governance, prosperity and growth,” commented A.G. Coombs Managing Director, Russell Telford.
“On behalf of the entire team at A.G. Coombs as well as all members of the A.G. Coombs Group Board, I would like to thank Clive for his unwavering support, guidance and leadership. All of which have been instrumental in ensuring that A.G. Coombs continues to deliver on its commitment to excellence in every aspect including quality, safety and sustainability while focusing on the needs of our people and the industry as a whole,” he added.

Murray Coleman OAM joined the Board of the A.G. Coombs Group in September 2021. He holds concurrent positions of Chairman of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Non-Executive Board Member of Earlytrade, a construction sector financial software platform.
Mr Coleman is a highly skilled executive and business leader with more than 35 years of expertise in the infrastructure, property and construction sectors. He has worked across Australia, Asia, USA and Europe, managing major global infrastructure projects, transforming businesses, restructuring for growth and driving strategic acquisitions.
“I am extremely proud to become the A.G. Coombs Group’s Non-Executive Chair. To be part of an organisation that embodies leadership and is truly making a difference whenever possible is particularly humbling,” said Mr Coleman.
“During my time on the Board, I have already had the opportunity to witness firsthand the importance of relationships, teamwork and respect that flows throughout the organisation. These attributes are firmly reflected in the way we work, our corporate culture and the values of our people. Continuing to steer our strategic vision with sound governance is a key objective and together, I believe we will share a positive and productive future,” he added.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Murray on his new position as Non-Executive Chair. His extensive knowledge and experience in the industry, together with his commitment to A.G. Coombs will continue to make a significant contribution to the evolution of our organisation,” concluded Russell.
