A.G. Coombs Advisory’s Geoff Flower will present on Building Information Modelling at the forthcoming FPA Fire Australia Conference 2018, being held in in Brisbane 1 – 3 May 2018.

Geoff’s presentation will focus on the development of a standard nomenclature for fire protection system and equipment designation within Building Information Models (BIM) for use as part of the BIM MEP AUS methodology. And the development of an industry standard for the use of BIM for Fire Protection Systems and equipment. In this he will address:

• Benefits and opportunities in adopting BIM for fire protection systems
• Overview of the BIM MEP Aus Initiative
• Challenges of implementing BIM and the need for standardisation
• Benefits and potential opportunities for standardisation
• Draft nomenclature for fire services to be included in the BIM MEP AUS Practices
