Celebrating the Next Generation at the 2026 CIBSE ANZ Young Engineers Awards
A.G. Coombs continued its longstanding support of the CIBSE ANZ Young Engineers Awards in 2026, joining the building services industry in Sydney to recognise the emerging talent helping shape the future of the profession.
Held on 22 October, the 2026 Awards brought together more than 100 guests representing 46 organisations from across Australia and New Zealand. A.G. Coombs has supported the Young Engineers Awards for six consecutive years.
This year’s theme, Circular Economy – Paying it forward for the future generation, challenged entrants to explore the real-world application of circularity in the built environment and consider how today’s decisions can contribute to more sustainable outcomes for generations to come.
Reflecting this theme, Andrew Nagarajah, Sustainability Leader – Group Engineering, shared A.G. Coombs’ perspective on the importance of supporting emerging engineering talent:
“Creating a more sustainable built environment depends on the ideas, capability and leadership of the next generation. Supporting the CIBSE Young Engineers Awards reflects our commitment to building industry capability and recognising the emerging professionals whose innovation and technical expertise will help shape a more resource-efficient future.”
A.G. Coombs congratulates all those recognised through the 2026 Awards, including this year’s winners, runners-up and finalists.
Asher McNally, Engineer and Michael Pickford, Project Engineer represented A.G. Coombs at the event, providing a fitting connection between the Awards’ focus on emerging engineering talent and A.G. Coombs’ own commitment to developing the next generation of building services professionals. Their attendance formed part of A.G. Coombs’ wider support of the event, alongside the company’s event sponsorship and thought leadership contribution.
The evening also looked ahead to 2027, when CIBSE ANZ will celebrate its 40th anniversary. CIBSE ANZ announced Future-proofing through resilience as the theme for the coming year.
