In the March 2019 edition of AIRAH Ecolibrium magazine, Sean McGowan takes an in-depth look into the 151 Clarence Street, Barrack Place development, and how it achieved its WELL Core & Shell pre-certification along 6 star Green Star Design ratings from the Green Building Council of Australia for both the base building and Arup office fitout.
As the specialist mechanical services contractor, A.G. Coombs played an important role in the building achieving its WELL certification and in the successful project delivery.

“Our early engagement in the project meant we were able contribute to the completion of the design, and better coordinate and document the project. As a result, we were able to implement a number of buildability improvements including the application of significant offsite prefabrication and on-site digitally driven initiatives that improved project outcomes within the stringent WELL requirements.” Tom Taylor, Project Manager | A.G. Coombs Projects.

Managed by the International WELL Building Institute, the WELL Building Standard™considers seven aspects of a building’s design and their impact on the health and well-being of its occupants.
