After a 20-year hiatus, the Rialto Run Up is back. On Sunday 18 May, athletes, elite climbers, regular humans, families and children will run, climb and crawl up 1240 ‘giant steps’ across 54 floors to support Giant Steps Melbourne, a charitable organisation committed to providing education and services to children and adults on the autism spectrum and their families.
The Rialto is a Melbourne landmark – originally, as an 1891 Venetian Gothic-style masterpiece and nearly 100 years later (1986) as Australia’ s then tallest building.
Caring for our community and getting involved
“We’re excited to sponsor the Rialto Run Up and take part in this iconic event that will provide much-needed support for the important work that Giant Steps does for the autism community,” commented Johan Muller, Manager – A.G. Coombs Special Contracts Division (Victoria).
“It’s also a wonderful opportunity for us to give back and experience the Rialto from a different perspective – being there for a new purpose on top of the specialist building services we provide for the building and its tenants every day. 20 A.G. Coombs and Walker Fire Protection team members are looking forward to having fun while running hard to the top of the Rialto,” he added.
Going beyond our client-provider relationships
A.G. Coombs has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with the Rialto, as a provider of a full suite of building services from our A.G. Coombs Advisory, Projects, Service and Walker Fire Protection teams.
