Project Scope
The Redevelopment of the National Gallery of Victoria will transform one of Australia’s premier art galleries into a greatly expanded and upgraded world class facility.
This is being achieved through significant renovation of the existing building and the construction of extensions.
The new air conditioning and ventilation systems for the National Gallery of Victoria have been designed to maintain very close tolerances of temperature and humidity, notwithstanding the various and varying requirements of the different permanent and visiting exhibitions the effects of thousands of visitors per day. The systems are of the highest quality and will be tested and commissioned to provide reliable service for many years to come.
The new system is much more sophisticated than the system it replaces. Installation of such a complex air conditioning system within the restraints of an existing building shell that has been extensively remodelled internally is extremely challenging.
