Commercial Building Disclosure Transition Period ends

The 1st of November marked the end of the transition period for the Commonwealth’s mandatory Commercial Building Disclosure Program, which requires any commercial office space greater than 2000sqm offered for sale of lease to have a Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) and a CBD lighting assessment.
The national Program is designed to improve the energy efficiency of Australia’s office buildings, with legislated obligations under the Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act 2010 applicable to many commercial buildings.
