Challenge Family Centre doors officially opened

25th Nov 2011

On 14 November 2011, Challenge, a major not-for-profit provider of programs and services for children and their families who are living with cancer, officially opened the doors to its new headquarters and Family Centre, located at 529 King Street, West Melbourne.

Challenge Chairman Tom Gleisner, board member Todd Woodbridge, cancer survivor and pro golfer Jarrod Lyle, and opposition leader the Hon. Daniel Andrews were all involved in official opening proceedings, with the Family Centre now delivering support services to the children and their families, including counselling, group activities and childcare facilities.

As a long-standing supporter of Challenge, A.G. Coombs assisted its foundation charity in the redevelopment of the Centre, by undertaking a complete upgrade of the air conditioning system.

The $180,000 project entailed the delivery of complimentary design, construction and commissioning services, with voluntary assistance from A.G. Coombs employees, suppliers and specialist contractors, and with donations made by A.G. Coombs personnel.

A.G. Coombs will continue its ongoing contribution to the facility through the delivery of complimentary maintenance services.

A.G. Coombs is, once again, proud to have supported such a worthwhile cause, and would like to thank all involved in the successful completion of this significant project.
