New Paradigm Required for Green Refurbishments

Mark Mitchell, General Manager of A.G. Coombs Pty Ltd (Projects), spoke with industry leaders today about the need for a new paradigm to retrofit green refurbishments in occupied businesses.

Presenting at AIRAH’s Pre-loved Buildings Conference, Mitchell stated that “many hidden issues and known challenges exist that have not been well-managed by project delivery teams in the past” arguing that the first step is to “establish an awareness of issues likely to affect refurbishment project outcomes”.

Such issues can only be resolved through an end-to-end delivery approach which incorporates a formal project plan, clearly articulated outcomes and delivery methodology, and stakeholder expectation management.
