The event was held at the Plaza Ballroom in the Regent Theatre where a record number of guests attended. In presenting the Victorian award AMCA Executive Director David Eynon said, Grant is an outstanding apprentice and was selected as the Apprentice of the Year from a particularly strong field of apprentices.
The finalists also included Lonny Hore another A.G. Coombs plumber.
The Award is the culmination of a very successful apprenticeship for Grant who is a winner of the Allan Coombs Training Award and an award winning Holmesglen Institute of TAFE apprentice. Grant has worked on a wide variety of projects during his apprenticeship including projects in Canberra and a co-generation project in Sydney. He is currently involved in the new 6 Star ANZ Bank Headquarters in the Melbourne Docklands precinct.
Grant and Lonny’s achievements are testament to A.G. Coombs long and proud history of investing in the development of apprentices as the future of our organisation. This outstanding result is a credit to the strength of the A.G. Coombs Apprenticeship Program and the individuals involved.
